I've always loved butterflies. Dark, dramatic mourning cloaks (Nymphalis antiopa) are among my favorites. Most of my beaded butterflies are based on photographs of real ones. It's a pleasure as well as a challenge to render them in beads.
Required Materials: Seed Beads, beads, canvas, felt, beading thread, quilting, cotton, craft glue, stretcher frame, pin back. See project for complete list.
