After establishing the first ten rows of this pattern, you can take this project with its four-row repeat to waiting rooms and ball games - it's that easy. But once you get to that fabulous border, you'll want to spend some quality time with the chart on page 24. The alpaca, silk, and cashmere blend of the hand-dyed Manos del Uruguay Lace gives this shawl an ethereal beauty that is a joy to wear.

i made this for my mother and it was such a pleasure to crochet. the pattern was simple enough to do and yet interesting enough to keep my attention. i worked it in knitpicks gloss which is a merino/silk blend and the weight and drape were perfect. this is a nice light spring/fall pattern for a day with just a bit of coolness. the border was my favorite part of this project, i was afraid it would be a bit much for me to tackle, but it was not and came out exquisite!
