Designer Kristin Omdahl wanted to work on a project made of small motifs that would be portable, but she didn't want to sew them together at the end. She developed a technique of securing chain loops together with her fingers.
Finished Size: about 54" wide by 46" long.
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton (100% organic cotton; 150 yd [137 m]/3 1/2 oz [100 g]; ): #81 sand (MC), 8 skeins. Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton (100% organically grown cotton; 150 yd [137 m]/3 1/2 oz [100 g]; ): #625 graphite (A), 6 skeins; #602 honeydew (B), #628 azul (C), #618 orchid (D), #603 thistle (E), 2 skeins each.
Yarn weight: #4 - Medium
Gauge: Rnds 1-3 of motif = about 4" in diameter. Gauge is not critical for this project.
Needles: Hooks: Size H/8 (5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
