EP0857

The designer updates a centuries-old lace technique with lush, textured yarns and a thoroughly modern design. The three-dimensional motifs are crocheted first, then applied to a paper or muslin template; a picot mesh is worked to join the motifs and to form the body of the shawl.
Finished Size: About 11" long at each end, 15" long at center, and 43" wide.
Yarn: Loop-d-Loop Moss (85% extra fine merino wool, 15% nylon; 163 yd [147 m]/13/4 oz [50 g]; CYCA-standard yarn weight system-3): #7 Rose (MC), 5 balls. Loop-d-Loop Fern (70% wool, 30% nylon; 81 yd [73 m]/13/4 oz [50 g]; CYCA-standard yarn weight system-5): #7 Rose (CC), 2 balls. Yarn distributed by Tahki Stacy Charles.
Yarn weight: #3 - Light
Gauge: 4 loops and 6 rows = 4" in picot mesh patt.
Needles: Hooks: Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Sewing needle with sharp point and eye large enough to fit a thread for basting (upholstery needle works well); paper or muslin for template; polyester sewing thread in contrasting color; yarn needle.
