"If you like to learn about new cultures and have a passion for sock knitting, hotfoot it... and order a copy of this book now.” -- Knit Today (Dec. 2010 Issue)
"Elements of national costume appear alongside beautiful folk patterns, but it's exotic touches such as the Sashiko embroidery on the Japanese sock that set these designs apart. Offering clear advice on the advanced techniques used, this is a delight for the confident heel-turner."--The Knitter (UK)
"If you like learning about the knitting traditions, motifs and inspirations of different countries around the world, you're sure to enjoy Around the World in Knitted Socks…This book would make a great gift for a sock knitter or someone who is interested in knitting history and traditions. It's also just a pretty book that's sure to inspire knitters - sock knitters and non-sock knitters alike - by illustrating the wide range of techniques and motifs in the wide world of knitting." -- About.com
"The designs are gorgeous. They strike the perfect balance of being both unique, and recognizable enough to associate with the country they represent...I think the true value of this book is in the colorwork patterns. It's not just the use of more than a single color of yarn that's noteworthy; it's the addition of complementary cuffs and heels, interesting gusset shaping... all the details that take a stitch pattern and turn it into a complete sock pattern." -- "Grumperina" blog
"Stephanie Van Der Linden has created a fabulous collection of foot-sized knitted treasures that will inspire and tempt socks knitters as they flip through its pages." -- Knitty.com
