Using a silk-wool blend in a very fine gauge to reimagine a rustic classic: A wide seeded rib, waist darts, and hemmed edges give this shirt seamstress finesse. Pieced and seamed construction provides support and structure for the drapey fabric.
Finished Size: 29 (33 1/2, 36 1/2, 40, 43 3/4, 47)" bust circumference, with front bands overlapped 1". Sweater shown measures 33 1/2", modeled with about 1 1/2" negative ease.
Yarn: Naturally Dawn (50% wool, 50% silk; 171 yd [156 m]/25 g): #3 rust, 7 (7, 8, 9, 10, 11) skeins. Yarn distributed by Fiber Trends.
Yarn weight: #0 - Lace
Gauge: 31 sts and 41 rows = 4" in wide seeded rib, after blocking.
Needles: Size 3 (3.25 mm): straight and double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle; stitch holders; markers (m); six 7/16" front buttons; four 9/16" cuff buttons.
