The designer builds this pullover with simple elements put together in new ways: Simple stockinette sleeves have extra-deep saddle shoulders, which become a split yoke above a textured body. Strong crocheted seams at the shoulders support the fabric's weight but are concealed by a full-sleeve slip-stitch "faux seam." A smooth, soft cotton-and-bamboo yarn highlights the play between textures.
Finished Size: 38 (42, 45 1/2, 49, 52 1/2, 56)" chest circumference, after blocking. Sweater shown measures 42".
Yarn: Classic Elite Cotton Bam Boo (52% cotton, 48% bamboo; 130 yd [119 m]/50 g): #3638 toasted almond, 12 (13, 14, 15, 17, 18) balls.
Yarn weight: #2 - Fine
Gauge: 27 sts and 34 rows = 4" in textured patt on larger needles, after blocking; 24 sts and 32 rows = 4" in St st on larger needles, after blocking.
Needles: Body, body ribbing, and sleeves-size 4 (3.5 mm). Neckband-size 3 (3.25 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook; markers (m); stitch holders; small safety pins; tapestry needle.
