Ribs flow easily into cables in this sweater design. To provide interest, the designer added simple details that complement the rib-and-cable pattern. A foldover band finishes the wide, scooped neck, and two knitted-in front pockets break up the fluid vertical patterning on the front. A smooth merino yarn in DK weight shows off the crisp lines of the stitch patterns.
Finished Size: 32 1/2 (34, 38, 40 1/2, 44 1/2)" bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 32 1/2".
Yarn: Zitron Ecco (100% merino; 120 yd [110 m]/50 g): #120 coral, 11 (12, 13, 14, 15) skeins. Yarn distributed by Skacel.
Yarn weight: #2 - Fine
Gauge: 25 sts and 32 rows = 4" in k2, p1 rib on smaller needles; 29 sts and 32 rows = "" in rib and cable patt on larger needles.
Needles: Size 6 (4 mm): straight needles and 32" circular (cir). Size 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
