Eyelets in soft linen make a pretty summer blouse.

Small buttons, short fitted sleeves, and crocheted edgings give this simple summer top a vintage look. A narrow ribbon tie defines the empire waist and separates the bodice, worked in a cloverleaf eyelet pattern, from a deep rib scored with columns of fagot lace. The top is worked in a linen yarn that will soften and drape with repeated washings.

Cons:
I've made this twice, I had no difficulty following the pattern, and the shaping is well done. It was published in 2006 and the midriff-revealing length is dated now (2011), so you may want to keep knitting the lower section for a few more inches before starting the upper section. The neckline is a tad low for me, so I just knit about 1 1/4" more before starting the neckline shaping--the measurements and the photo are accurate, it's just a personal preference.
