Tweed can be soft and luxurious, too: the designer uses a soft, unusual angora-blend tweed as the base of a sweet pair of heirloom mittens. Stranded colorwork, intarsia, and embroidery, combined with different fibers and colors, add up to these mittens.
Finished Size: 7 1???4" hand circumference, to fit a woman???s medium hand.
Yarn: Sunday Knits Brigadoon (100% merino; 246 yd [225 m]/50 g): blackish (black tweed), 1 skein. Sunday Knits Angelic (75% merino, 25% angora; 98 yd [90 m]/20 g): bone (off-white), melon (bright pink), black, 1 skein each. Sunday Knits Eden (100% merino; 98 yd [90 m]/20 g): fir (pine green), sage, pickle (yellow-green), rose, aster (reddish-violet), 1 skein each. Sunday Knits Nirvana (92% merino, 8% cashmere; 98 yd [90 m]/20 g): espresso (dark brown), cedar (dark khaki), berry (dull raspberry), 1 skein each.
Yarn weight: #0 - Lace
Gauge: 28 sts and 44 rnds = 4" in poinsettia patt; 28 sts and 40 rnds = 4" in St st with Brigadoon.
Needles: Size 2 (2.75 mm): set of 4 or 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
