At a chunky gauge, lace becomes a fascinating study in knitted structures: This sweater's yarnovers, decreases, and cable crosses come through loud and clear in a lush, springy multi-blend. The designer uses a close fit and a deeply scooped neck to keep the shape light and bulk-free.
Finished Size: 30 (34 1???2, 39, 43 1???2, 48, 53)" bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 34 1???2", modeled with about 1???2" positive ease.
Yarn: Classic Elite Duchess (40% merino, 28% viscose, 10% cashmere, 7% angora, 15% nylon; 75 yd [69 m]/50 g): #1046 regal teal, 7 (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) balls.
Yarn weight: #5 - Bulky
Gauge: 15 sts and 18 rows = 4" in charted eyelet and cable patt on larger needles; one chart rep (17 sts) = 4 1???2" wide on larger needles; 17 sts and 20 rows = 4" in 2??2 rib on smaller needles, unstretched.
Needles: Size 9 (5.5 mm): straight and 16" circular (cir). Size 10 1???2 (6.5 mm): straight. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
