An eight-stitch reversible cable embossed onto the edges and yoke of a simple reverse-stockinette body lets the collar of Rosamund's Cardigan lie flat in lapels or stand up as a funnel neck. Andrea Pomerantz planned for edges that look finished, whether they’re swinging open or cleanly closed with hidden hook-and-eye fastenings.
Finished Size 341⁄2 (37, 401⁄2, 44, 48, 511⁄2)" bust circumference, buttoned with front cable borders overlapping. Cardigan shown measures 341⁄2", modeled with minimal ease.
Yarn Tahki Rio (50% alpaca, 35% merino, 15% silk; 87 yd [80 m]/50 g): #002 light taupe, 8 (9, 11, 13, 15, 16) skeins.
Yarn Weight #3 - Light
Needles Size 6 (4 mm): 29" circular (cir). Size 8 (5 mm): 29" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle; two 13⁄8" buttons; 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 8) sets of size 3 hookand- eye closures with straight eyes (each set consists of one hook and one straight eye); sewing needle and matching thread.
Gauge 19 sts and 26 rows = 4" in rev St st on larger needle.
