Description
The Nattrojer (cropped pullovers used as undershirts) were part of everyday wear for Danish women in the 1800s. In this version the welts, or bodice borders, are made of a checkerboard design and knitted back and forth in rows. The welts are joined and the body is knitted in the round to the armholes, then the front and back are divided for working back and forth to the shoulders. The shoulder seams are joined with a three-needle bind-off, and the sleeves are picked up and knitted down to the loose-fitting cuffs.
