This raglan is a study in how knit stitches and purl stitches work together: Varying in width and height, bands of rib and horizontal welting skim the body. A rich kettle-dyed wool/silk singles yarn makes every stitch plump and full.

Finished Size: 31 3/4 (35 1/2, 40 1/4, 44 1/2, 48, 51 3/4)" bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 31 3/4", modeled with more than 2" negative ease.
Yarn: Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% merino, 30% silk; 150 yd [135 m]/50 g): dove, 7 (8, 10, 12, 13, 15) skeins. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.
Yarn weight: #3 - Light
Gauge: 25 sts and 28 rnds = 4" in 5x1 rib, after blocking.
Needles: Size 5 (3.75 mm): 32" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Size H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook; tapestry needle; stitch holders; markers (m); waste yarn.
