Love this publication even though I'm not an art journaler!

I'm not an art journaler nor am I interested in becoming one. Yes, I love to create and I adore mixed media in general but when I feel the need to journal, I continue to be drawn to "the morning pages a la Julia Cameron" type of journaling because that's what works best for me. Thankfully, I didn't let that stop me from purchasing the first issue of Pages -- what a visual treat this is!
Pages is full of new (to me, at least!) and interesting techniques and I found myself inspired by the many thoughtful and doable creations. I didn't have to go out and buy a bunch of expensive or hard-to-find supplies...I either already had them, could easily make them, or had a suitable substitute. The photos were excellent and the supporting descriptions were clear.
Pages is one of those publications that you can look through several times and find something new with every read. The topic of "art journaling" is somewhat of a misnomer as the techniques found in this magazine (and pretty much all others that reference art journaling) can be used on almost any substrate you wish to use! Whatever your preference, whether it's a journal, stretched canvas, or fabric, you can apply these ideas.
Although I've recently stopped buying certain magazines because they no longer inspire me, if all issues of Pages are as good as this one, I'll buy them sight unseen!

I held off purchasing this publication until two weeks ago. I didn't think it would add anything new. Boy, was I wrong!!! I cannot lie I have not read the entire magazine, but that is because I have to stop and go create something or check my stash to see if I have the necessary materials or to pull out my sketchbook because the featured project has germinated a new idea in another direction. I now plan to sit down and quietly go through Pages and use my handy sticky notes to mark special ideas. I certainly hope this is not the last we see of the magazine. The editors need a huge pat on the back for producing this rich source.
I got a digital copy of Pages. I loaded it on my Kindle Fire so I can take it anywhere. This is an amazing book. The artwork is beautiful and full of inspiration. Every time I look at it, I see something new.
This is a great magazine and I hope it becomes a regular the CPS did! My one complaint is that the digital download wasn't any cheaper than the printed version, which it should be. No reason printed and digital should have the same price and most other companies offer the digital versions for a few bucks less.Add in the shipping costs for the printed one and you end up paying as much, if not more, than you would for an entire art book.
I just happen to see this magazine at a fabric and craft store and decided to buy it. This magazine is full chuck of information and I can't put it down. There is so much to see and try. So glad I decided to purchase it. Thank you
