FAQs

1. So what is Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color?

Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color is our dynamic digital product, called an eMag, that you can download onto your computer and enjoy on or offline. It requires a simple software application called Adobe® AIR® that’s easy to use and can be installed on your computer for free. Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color includes articles, videos, images with zoom capability, hyperlinks to inspiring and informative websites, and so much more. With just the click of your mouse, you can open and play videos, view slideshows, and navigate easily around the eMag.

3. How is it different from the digital edition of Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine®?

Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color is an entirely unique product, separate from Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine® that focuses on collage and the many ways you can infuse it with color and texture. Unlike the digital editions of Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine®, which are exact digital replications of the print editions, Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color was developed solely as a digital product so that it can capitalize on all the benefits of online media capabilities, including videos, slideshows, zoom options that enable you to see close-ups of collages, materials lists that can be downloaded and printed, abilities to hyperlink to special sites, and so much more.

4. Will Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color be available as a print magazine?

Because this was built as a digital product, it will not be printed as a traditional magazine. However, we hope you'll take advantage of the many printable materials we've included.

5. Will Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color mean that Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine® will stop printing?

Absolutely not! Cloth Paper Scissors Collage in Color is an entirely separate, additional product to the Cloth Paper Scissors family. Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine® is still our flagship publication.

6. I would like to better understand how to view and navigate this eMag. Is there a demo of it I could see in order to do so?

This is my first venture into e.mags. At first it appeared that there was only 19 pages which I thought rather few compared with other paper mags that I buy here in England. However when I investigated further I found 7 video interviews with some of my Fav designers, a section on tips and tricks and so far each of the 19 pages have led to lots of extras to click on and view. I have not yet read all of the mag because I keep going back and trying the new ideas that I have found. Well done to all who helped to make this e.mag so interesting.

Hadn't realised how much I loved the format of this eMag until I recently purchased CPS Pages 2011 digital edition & found it flat & uninviting by comparison (the content is excellent though). I love being able to zoom in for detail, pause videos & listen to contributors to hear the enthusiasm in their voice. An advantage is not having to find storage space for the magazine. A suggestion is for me to be sent an email specifying when the next edition is available. As I receive emails from CPS & Quilting arts, it is difficult to keep track of what edition is a new release. I have a quilting arts eMag & am not sure how many have been published since. Keep up the great work.

I purchased this download not knowing if I would even like an eMag. I usually like a magazine I can hold, touch, feel and look through over and over again. I have to say that I REALLY enjoyed Collage in Color eMag! Even though it was on my computer screen and not in my hands, I found I got so much more out of it. Getting to see the Editor's comment on video in the beginning and the second video she did was priceless!!! I enjoyed the interview with Alisa Burke. It's nice to see and hear the artists as they explain their art techniques. The videos were great too, giving a how-to visual in addition to the written article. For me, seeing some of the techniques is fantastic as I am so much more of a visual learner and can go back to the videos as often as I want. I also enjoyed the ability to zoom in on the pictures of projects to be able to see more detail. I would definitely purchase another eMag from CPS! Very well done.

Once you learn how to navigate through this you will find some neat links. I enjoyed the video vault it was totally my favorite. The first artist interview was okay but I really wanted to see her artwork upclose but it was left on the table and I felt her interview was sort of generic and lacked enthusiam to me. I learned some techniques that were new to me, and I was inspired too. I didnt care for the flow of the pages too much, but being this is the premier issue, I realize they will work out the kinks. (feel free to edit this as you need to, I just wanted to leave FB) Yes because the price is right and you will find some cool surprises in here I would definately buy this again.. Looking forward to the next issue.

I actually downloaded this before I got an email about it as it seemed so intriguing. And it was. I filled page after page of my journal with ideas as I read/watched and absorbed everything in it. From techniques for collage to design issues and different approaches of artists, it covers everything - including an interactive colour wheel. Interweave are innovators in producing interactive emags that are tailored to the craft community and this one is no exception.
