Shay Pendray is an award-winning teacher, lecturer, designer, television host, and author. She owns a retail shop and production company, and manufactures and distributes needlework products. She writes a bimonthly column called “Shay Solutions” for Needle Pointers magazine and has written for Threads, PieceWork, Stitcher’s World, EGA NeedleArts Magazine and other trade publications. Shay brings her vast knowledge and experience to PBS television as host of the long-running and successful series The Embroidery Studio, and she is executive producer and host of Needle Arts Studio. Shay has studied Japanese embroidery for more than 18 years with four different sensei (teachers) in Japan. She has been the driving force in bringing Japanese embroidery to the U.S.
