Quilting Books

When inspiration strikes, and especially when it doesn’t, where do I head? Straight to my quilt studio bookshelf where I lovingly store all my quilting books! That’s where I’ll find tips, tricks, and how-tos from some of the top art quilters and fiber artists in the world. I can’t imagine my creative life without the Double Trouble series by Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn or books by the Committed to Cloth authors and art quilt book author Jane Dunnewold. They help me push my surface design boundaries.

And where would I be without quilting books by design and stitch visionaries Melanie Testa, Lyric Kinard, and Malka Dubrawsky? Their solid contemporary quilt design knowledge coupled with stitch and surface design artistry leaves me breathless. Whether I want to learn a new technique, brush up on one I’d put aside a while ago, or just pull inspiration from the colors, textures, and designs of contemporary art quilters and mixed-media artists, my surface design and fabric art books never fail me. And there’s always a new one to enjoy!
