Learn to make a colorful, fiber-ful scarf - great for gifts and the fabric can be cut for use in other projects. Working on a base of water-soluble stabilizer, we'll create a lovely fiber collage. A grid of stitching is added to hold the fibers in place, then the stabilizer is washed away. Materials list:- Drop cloth to protect work surface
- Water-soluble stabilizer
- Lightweight spray adhesive (I use 505® Spray and Fix.)
- Assorted fibers, including a finished-edge fabric/bias tape/ribbon to establish the perimeter
- Sewing machine and threads of choice
- Sink or dishpan, for warm water rinses
Tip: If you have trouble rinsing the stabilizer and spray adhesive from your piece, Jennifer of J.T. Trading recommends using a small amount of Murphy's Oil Soap.
