I've always liked Jane's very graphic-design inspired art quilts, and this little project lets you watch her in action. I found the instruction a bit dry and unengaging, but it does sort of suit her quiet and precise style of working. The surface design techniques used are very basic and will be familiar to all but beginners, but it is the way she puts the whole project together - applying design principles of repetition and variation and folding the pages - that makes this workshop worth watching. It left me wanting to make a bunch of these little books for personalized presents.
