In this workshop we will explore: working with resin, burning, stitching, dyeing and stamping. Once we covered the various techniques we will incorporate them together to create "beneath the surface" a project that will combine all your new skills. Materials:
- Sewing machine
- StazOn® ink (Saddle Brown, or your favorite color)
- Rubber stamps (deeply etched)
- Disposable bowls or cups
- Instant coffee crystals
- Acrylic paints
- Paper towels
- Muslin, natural - 1 yard
- Organza, sheer white or cream - 1 yard
- Organza, assorted colors
- Tulle, assorted colors
- Kunin felt or wool felt (Note: Both burn completely differently; if you want less of a burnt effect use the wool as it's a slow burn and you can control it more, but the Kunin gives you a nice raised edge.)
- Threads for quilting in colors to complement your palette
- Craft or quilting pins
- Scissors
- Awl
- Metal pie tin or cookie sheet
- Tea light candle
- Book text, sheet music, or painted papers
- Assorted synthetic fibers and fabrics
- Outdoor trash bag to use as a work surface.
