Trying to love the 2008 Spin Off CD Collection

Pros:
  • Photographs are beautiful on a monitor
  • Storage of CD is easy and neat
  • Price for four issues is lower on CD
Cons:
  • Have to turn on computer to read issue
  • Tied to computer to read
  • Page does not fit on screen .
I use my computer for work and for recreation, and living in a tiny town in a rural area of Georgia I rely on the internet for communication and oh, yes! for shopping. I purchased a copy of the "2008 Spin Off CD Collection" hoping I would enjoy reading the four issues of "Spin Off" at my computer with brilliant photographs and fewer chunks of paper and at a lower price than purchasing back issues. I wish I had spent more and purchased those back issues printed on paper so that I can read in bed or in an easy chair or tuck it into my knitting bag or lay it on a table while I try a new spinning technique. With my printed magazines I can see and read the whole page without having to scroll through a page that has been enlarged to make it possible to read. As a woman in my 60s I have developed specific habits for reading and learning and enjoying publications, and I am certain that younger readers will appreciate the CD format more than I do. I will continue to enjoy watching DVDs on my computer monitor as well as on a television screen, but I'll purchase my books and magazines on printed paper.
