The November/December 2011 issue of Handwoven is all about designing and weaving with blocks. Most projects in the issue all use the same two-block profile draft, each in a different weave structure. Other projects include piano scarves, a small coverlet, and ply-split baskets.

Additional comments: After playing around with Fiberworks, the "light bulb came on" and I realized that because halvdrall is treadled 12,34 either threading will work. However, to have a true tabby, the threading must be 1212321214 and 4343234341. There seems to be a combination of blocks A and B threading in both Figure 1 and the draft. Carefully follow the first tabby across Figure 1, and you will see that the drawdown is "correct" but not according to the threading and treadling.
