Great Review by Sharon

This was very informative and finally someone to show how to draw faces in a very simple way!! The info on shadowing was extremely helpful. I saw her face stencils before and just didn't realize the many uses for them. Use them as a guide, create your own masterpiece. Thanks Julie. Thanks Interweave.

Julie has it going on! Review by Denise

I love Julie Balzer and follow her blog religiously. I've watched other, shorter videos by Julie and learned a lot from those. This one was much longer and was very comprehensive....and finally a video about how to draw faces that is both informative AND fun! Julie understands what it means to be a beginner and she tells you and demonstrates exactly what you need to know to keep your faces from looking wonky (as mine always are). But she shows you how much freedom there is in shading and painting with COLOR! Wow! I love her lack of perfectionism. She's messy! So am I! But the concepts for the placement of each element of the face are spot on. Obviously, in mixed media whimsical paintings you can play with the size and placement of eyes/nose/mouth/etc. but having a firm basis in the anatomy of the face is a must. I'll definitely be watching more of Julie's videos in the future.

Great video for beginner and inspired artists. Review by Joyce

As a grade school teacher, this is a great video that I can show short segments to inspire students, so that they may try their hand at drawing faces. I use the same techniques to start students with the foundation lines and spacing of facial features. Julie's carefree use of color to show dimension and highlighting, may allow students to be creative without fear.

Worth every penny Review by K. Amber

Ms. Balzer is an engaging presenter, and she teaches a simple and repeatable face all of us can draw. She's even managed to simplify noses and ears!
Two most important lessons I took from this video were feature spacing and that stencils are not the boss of me.
I refer back often when I feel I need a confidence builder, because she's also really good at doing that.
All in all, I'm glad I bought this download, and I encourage anyone frightened of drawing faces to do the same.

All About Faces Review by Lin Griffin

Awesome video. The explanation alone in the shadowing and placement of features is well worth the cost. I can't draw so I avoided faces. The stencil concept appealed to me but was concerned about the limitations. Now after watching the video, I am enthused that the stencil is a guide and with all the tips given each one will be unique and not just carbon copies. I am confidant that now I can develop my own style with this excellent instruction.

DVD (I order DVD's from many sources)but was impressed by the quality and usefulness of information supplied by Julie Fei-Fan Balzar's unique presentation via Interweave. She offers a crystal clear and FUN delivery of valuable instructions using both words and brushes. I now know to watch for other videos she has made or will make in the future. All About Faces - Excellent Resource!!! Review by Barbara Staradumsky

I love Julie Balzer and follow her blog. This is the first instructional video I've purchased of Julie's. I now want to purchase every one of hers! She goes into detail and explains things in a way that anyone can understand and relate to. She not only shows you how to create a face but also different ideas to make the face your own and not just a carbon copy of someones work. I already had one of her face stencils. I never thought to use the stencils in ways she showed. Simply amazing! Now I want to close my craft room door and just play and that is exactly what I plan to do! Bravo Julie! I'm now a even bigger fan than before!

All About Faces Review by Susan Wymer

Throughout this video Julie is an enthusiastic and encouraging teacher. Her use of detailed verbal instruction along with the visual instruction make the lessons easy to follow. Her method of teaching how to draw and shade a face really helped me to think about faces and my drawings have improved! I highly recommend purchasing this class if you are interested in drawing faces. As an added bonus Julie covers how to use stencils as well.
