The eyelet design on these socks can be left plain to represent the unfinished Anne we meet early in the book, or decorated with ribbons woven through the eyelets, the way the later more confident and content Anne might have worn them.
Finished Size: 6 (71/2, 9)" foot circumference unstretched, and 91/4 (93/4, 101/4)" long from back of heel to tip of toe; length is adjustable. Socks shown measure 71/2".
Yarn: Cephalopod Yarns Skinny Bugga (80% superwash Merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 424 yd [388 m]/4 oz [113 g]): #Y38 horseshoe crab, 1 (1,2) skein(s).
Needles: Size 1 (2.25 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); stitch holder (optional); tapestry needle; 1 1/2 yd thin ribbon for cuff (optional).
Gauge: 32 sts and 48 rnds = 4" in St st; about 32 sts and 34 rnds = 4" in patt from Leg charts.
