This designer combined cables, moss stitch, and garter ridges to create, in an abstract way, the look of plaid in this beautifully balanced, Aran-inspired pullover.

Details
Finished Size: 43 1/2 (50, 56 1/2)" (110.5 [127, 143.5] cm) bust/chest circumference. Pullover shown measures 50" (127 cm).
Yarn: Reynolds Saucy (100% mercerized cotton; 185 yd [169 m]/100 g): #736 taupe, 9 (11, 12) balls.
Yarn weight: #4 - Medium
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4" (10 cm) in moss stitch on larger needles; 34 sts of center cable panel = 4 1/2" (11.5 cm), blocked.
Needles: Body and Sleeves-Size 7 (4.5 mm). Ribbing-Size 5 (3.75 mm): straight and 16" (40-cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
