“Ziebarth uses photography as the first steps in her design process. She does not provide step-by-step processes, but rather gives the reader a wealth of information to help them learn how to turn their own photos into unique images for their art. She describes what she learned as she experimented with altering her photographs, and provides basic techniques and exercises that can get readers started without any prior knowledge pf photo editing. Interspersed with amazing photos and quilts, there are 11 exercises to put the information to use. There are many useful tips, including what you need in a digital camera, strategies for keeping your visual ideas together, and different ways to view and store your photos. The gallery is stunning. Ziebarth's beautiful quilts are stepped-out with references made to the techniques, by page, so that readers can really see how the quilt was designed and completed. The last chapter provides interesting ways to finish a quilt, and there is a great resources list, as well. I am truly inspired to take more photos, “play” with them, and create some wonderful art.”--Quilting Arts
