Intended to be worn with negative ease, it hugs the body and ends at the waist. The beaded shoulders are a nod to the epaulettes of the military spencer, and the easy-to-remember beaded diamond pattern takes the project from ordinary to extraordinary.
Finished Size: 30 (321/2, 34,361/2, 38, 401/2, 42)" bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 30". Choose a size with about 2" of negative ease.
Yarn: Classic Elite Yarns Verde Collection Solstice (70% organic cotton, 30% wool; 100 yd [91 m]/1.75 oz[50g]): #2316 natural, 5 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8) skeins.
Needles: Body and Sleeves-size 6 (4 mm): 24" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn); ribbing and I-cords-size 5 (3.75 mm): 24" cir and dpn. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: About 120 (120, 136, 136, 152, 152, 168) grams size 3/0 Toho round seed beads in lustered cream; markers (m); stitch holders;
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows/rnds = 4" in St st on larger needles.
