Blue Thistle Shawl

Designer Susanna IC was inspired by the structure of thistle plants as she designed this shawl. It begins at the bottom of the lace portion and is shaped upward with decreases and short-rows, creating a crescent shape.

Finished Size: 57" wide along top edge, 22" tall at deepest point, and 13" tall at ends. 
Yarn: Yarn Queensland Collection Kathmandu Aran (85% merino wool, 10% silk, 5% cashmere; 104 yd [95 m]/50 g): #172 ocean blue, 6
skeins. Yarn distributed by Knitting Fever.
Yarn Weight: #3 Light  
Needles:  Size 9 (5.5 mm): 32" or longer circular (cir). CO—size 10½ (6.5 mm): 32" or longer cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. 
Notions:  Tapestry needle; blocking pins.
Gauge:  12 sts and 22 rows = 4" in St st on smaller needle, after blocking.

This is by far one of the MOST eye appealing shawls available to date. Can not wait to start and finish this gift for so done very special my daughter in law!
