Handfelting gives solid shape to the wide funnel neck of a vest that's no more than armholes set at an angle into a straight rectangle. An unfelted body provides textural contrast.

the description of this pattern makes it look like a slam dunk--not so my friend--first of all--it takes forever to get to the top--then the lovely armhole decreases and increases all the while keeping the basket weave pattern in mind--finally the ingenious coming together for a stand-up collar to be felted separately while still attached to the body--oh my--I can do it but only with a lot of experience and tenacity--not for the faint of heart people--
