  • Sewing machine with free-motion capabilities, in good working order
  • Darning or free-motion foot

  • 12"-square quilt sandwiches (Make light, medium, and/or dark solid or solid-like tops, batting, and backing. I prefer cotton or bamboo batting, or a bamboo/cotton mix.)
  • 12"-square quilt sandwiches with some fused appliqué elements on the sandwich top
  • Variety of medium- and heavy-weight threads, suitable for machine quilting
  • Machine quilting needles, size 75/11
  • Bobbins
  • Seam ripper (just in case!)


  • Quilting gloves (recommended)
  • Iron and pressing pad
  • Medium-weight upholstery vinyl, 14" x 14" square (or larger)
  • Dry-erase markers
  • Tracing or parchment paper
