Kate Haxell learned to sew at a young age, creating outfits for her dolls. She went on to get an art degree, worked for Country Living magazine, and then moved into book publishing. Kate has written six books, including Decorative Knitting, The Seed Bead Book, First Knits, Simple Handmade Storage, and Simple Handmade Garden Furniture. She lives in London.
