Learn what images work best, how to burn and tape a screen, and the basics of printing with these screens. You can do everything from adding imagery to commercial fabric to creating your own fabric and one-of-a-kind art pieces. You'll also learn how to layer images and combine text with photographs. The sky is the limit using this very simple and fun printing method!
Materials list:
  • Thermofax® machine
  • Silk screen material
  • High contast copies, photos, doodles, drawings, etc. (any images you want to replicate)
  • Carrier sheet(s)
  • Rotary cutter and mat
  • Scissors
  • Duct tape (or plastic frames to hold screens)
  • A padded surface, not too soft, as base for printing
  • Fabric of choice
  • Inks and/or paints (I use Print Gocco stamp ink, Jacquard® Versatex ink, and Golden® acrylic paints.)
  • Squeegee, putty knife, or gift/credit cards for spreading paint
  • A good-size pan, filled with water, for cleaning screens
