These wonderfully useful oilcloth buckets can hold anything you might not usually put in a fabric bucket. You can even use them to store makeup on your bathroom counter, or for diaper cream, Legos, colored pencils, anything!

Required Materials:
Fabric (for three containers)
  • 1/2 yd each of three different 45" - 54" wide decorator weight linens or cottons for the exterior (shown: Japanese linen/cotton blends by Kokka)
  • 1/2 yd each of three different 45" - 60" wide laminated cottons or oilcloth for the lining (shown: Central Park by Kate Spain for Moda)
Other Supplies
  • 1 yd heavyweight fusible interfacing
  • 1/2 yd 1/2" plain or decorative twill tape or ribbon (shown: measuring tape twill tape design)
  • Thread in coordinating colors
  • Disappearing ink fabric marker
  • Self-adhesive, double-sided basting tape
  • Press cloth
  • Tear-away stabilizer or tissue paper (optional)
  • Teflon foot for sewing machine (optional)
  • Everyday Container templates
