The crescent shape of the French Quarter Shawl is achieved by binding off at the beginning of each row. Top and bottom edgings are attached as they're worked.
Finished Size: About 76½ " wide and 21¾ " deep.
Yarn: Jade Sapphire Silk Cashmere (55% silk, 45% cashmere; 400 yd [366 m]/55 g): #24 plum rose, 2 skeins. 
Yarn Weight: #2 - Fine    
Needles:  Sizes 7 (4.5 mm) and 8 (5 mm): 40" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. 
Notions:  Markers (m); waste yarn for provisional CO; tapestry needle.
Gauge:  15½ sts and 21 rows = 4" in patt on larger needle, after blocking; 28 sts (2 patt reps) = 7¼ " wide.
