- Very Enjoyable Experience Review by Kate
I grew up in the '80s when everything was cheap and cheaply made. All of our household goods did, and still do come from the cheapest source possible but with the highest human cost. As I grew up, I began to spin and realized the importance of investing both time and materials into sustainability and quality. I've never woven anything, mostly because of the competitive and somewhat expensive nature of it. I am, however inspired to pursue the knowledge (I don't mind digging for it- I'm a librarian). With no family background in textiles to build on, other than my own personal study, it should be an interesting and lifelong adventure. Of all the wonderful elements in this video, the most valuable to me were the stories. Thank you for that.
On a side note: The second song Mr Kennedy sings during the waulking closely resembles the Appalachian song "Wind and Rain". The tunes are different, but the stories are the same. Another attribute, it seems that connects Gaelic culture to our own.

- BEST PURCHASE EVER Review by Amanda
I simply adore this man and his work. This video tickles me to no end. The old time knowledge Norm shares, the songs, and stories are all invaluable. I have learned SO much that I haven't heard or found elsewhere, all of which is extremely helpful information for taking my art to a higher level and for me to feel and be connected with the immense line of craftspeople who handed us down their knowledge of traditional craft and homesteading. This is a HUGE gift to me.
Also, among many other inspirations, it inspired me to finally get my great wheel up and spinning, which has been a huge source of fun and joy for me.
Thank you Norm Kennedy, for sharing all of this with us, and thank you to Interweave Press for producing them gem! Forever grateful.
