Honeycomb Smocked Scarf

Smocking was very popular in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and was used on both garments and accessories. This scarf has a decorative smocking detail at each border and in the center to create a pretty gathered detail.
FABRIC— For a continuous scarf with noseams: 2 yd cotton voile, 40" wide(enough for two scarves)— For a single scarf with a centerseam: 1 yd cotton voile, 40" wide
OTHER SUPPLIES— Matching thread— Fabric-safe marker or chalk markingpencil— Embroidery floss— Handsewing embroidery needle
