Description
A girl's knitted dress is worked in two pieces from side to side. Short-rows shape the full skirt, while a denser guage, pleats, and fewer rows make for a fitted bodice. Stitches at the side seams, cast on provisionally, are joined with three-needle bind-off.

Tahki Cotton Classic (100% mercerized cotton; 108 yd [99 m]/50 g): #3528 light bright yellow, 6 (7, 8, 8, 9, 10) skeins.
Yarn Weight #3 - Light
Needles
Sizes 6 (4 mm), 5 (3.75 mm), and 1 (2.25 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions
Markers (m); stitch holders; waste yarn for provisional CO; tapestry needle.
Gauge
16 sts and 25 rows = 4" in lace patt on largest needles, after blocking; 20 sts and 28 rows = 4" in St st on largest needles.
