Finishing a garment you've made by hand is an entirely different skill from actually knitting or crocheting. You don't need to avoid patterns with finishing because on this episode of Knitting Daily TV we tackle finishing fears with tips and techniques for giving your projects that final, professional look. Getting Started:
First, Eunny Jang will demonstrate three different techniques for simple button holes, a finishing technique that will give your garment personality as well as a professional look. Designer Spotlight: Go on location with Kristin Omdahl as she visits with Sean Larson from Lantern Moon as they take a look at what's new in buttons for knitters and crocheters. He'll also share tips on how to choose the perfect button to complete the look of your handmades. The Pico, a cute collar seen on this segment, is perfect for embellishing with a button to fit your personality. The Pico is designed by Larissa Brown for Pico Accuardi Dyeworks. Crochet Corner: On this episode of Crochet Corner, Kristin takes a closer look at textural crochet stitches. She demonstrates how to crochet the flowers and nosegay of two traditional afghan projects. How-To: Author and designer Becca Smith joins Shay for a lesson in felting. She demonstrates how to finish a felted flowered tote, a quick-knit project with a lot of personality that's perfect for a first-time felter. Knit-Along: Eunny and knitter Zontee Hou are back with the second installment of the Fallen Leaves Scarf. They focus on the colorwork section of this project with a great introduction to slip stitch knitting.
