Tilting cable socks are covered with a fine network of cabled ropes that move up, down, and from side to side. Working from the top down, an unusual "shifting cable" is used to create the illusion of tilting cable columns.
Finished Size: 7??" foot circumference, and 9" foot length from back of heel to tip of toe. To fit women's U.S. shoe sizes 6?????7, with instructions for how to lengthen the foot.
Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Lightweight (100% superwash merino; 360 yd [329 m]/128 g): beryl (shades of green), 1 skein.
Yarn weight: #1 - Super Fine
Gauge: 8 1/2 sts and 12 rows = 1" in St st worked in the rnd; 40 sts (1 rep) of Tilting Cables chart measures 3 3/4" wide worked in the rnd.
Needles: Size 1 (2.5 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
