About the Author

BILL FRETZ fell in love with jewelry making his junior year in high school, trained at the School for American Craftsmen at R.I.T in Rochester, New York, and taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art before opening his first workshop in 1970. Bill and his wife, Marian, moved to Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1974, the same year both were in the World Silver Show in Mexico City. Over the past decade, Bill turned his love of silversmithing tools into a business that has grown from a small line of jeweler’s stakes to a complete line of stakes and hammers manufactured by his son Jordan’s workshop in Vietnam.

Amazing Review by Monica

Easy to understand why everyone talks with reverence about Bill Fretz. His videos are absolutely wonderful. I own 10 Fretz hammers and 6 Fretz stakes and they are by far my best tools. I feel sorry for myself that I don't own more. The videos are equally top of the line. Perfection!

Great Instruction Video Review by John Ford

I bought this video & the second video in this series by Bill Fretz, metal forming has been an interest of mine. I could have not wished for a better teacher, Bill takes you by the hand & shows you step by step the process of turning a plain bangle form & turn it into a work of art jewelry piece. I recommend anyone who's even the slightest interest in metal forming to purchase this video series.
