Knitted toe-up, these socks get a splash of color from a technique Lorilee Beltman developed called vertical stranding. With an eye of partridge pattern on the flap heel, these are wonderfully clever socks.
Finished Size: About 7 (7½, 8)" (18 [19, 20.5] cm) foot circumference; foot length is adjustable. Sock measures about 7¾ (8, 8½)" (19.5 [20.5, 21.5] cm) from bottom of heel to top of cuff. To fit woman’s U.S. shoe size 6–7 (7–8, 8–9). 
Yarn:Fingering weight (Super Fine #1). Shown here: The Plucky Knitter Plucky Primo (70% merino, 25% cashmere, 5% nylon; 385 yd [352 m]/100 g) 
Yarn Weight: #1 - Super Fine  
Needles:  U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm) (see Notes). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. 
Notions:  Markers (m); waste yarn; tapestry needle. 
Gauge:  34 sts and 50 rnds = 4" (10 cm) in St st in the rnd.
