- This is one book that I will read cover to cover. Review by Lexi Erickson
ANYONE interested in adding color to their jewelry should own this. I learned so much that I cannot wait to try. I know of no university classes that even come close to delving into the subject with such intensity. Not only are the examples of finished jewelry inspiring, the entire book is well organized and the photos are clear and beautifully presented. This book should be in every jewelry artists library.

This is THE book for all metal artist. The graphics and instructions are concise and easy to follow. The finished graphics correlate to the provided formulas. I could not be happier with this publication.
If you create in metal, buy this book.

- The bible for patinas! Jam packed with info and formulas! Review by Pat Gebes
I just got in the mail this book, Patina – 300+ Coloration Effects for Jewelers and Metalsmiths by Matthew Runfola. It’s published by Interweave and it’s 256 pages packed full of great information starting with tools, safety, aesthetic decisions, recipes and colorant formulas, a glossary. This book tells you how to make a lot of different color effects on various metals, sterling silver, copper, brass, bronze, steel, stainless steel, aluminum. With each metal he has examples of various effects and the formulas are in the back of the book. He includes lots of examples from various artists as well. It looks like it could become the bible for patinas. While I haven’t tried any of his formulas yet it certainly gives me ideas. I have the hard copy now and am enjoying paging through but I'll probably order the download so that I can quickly find the specific information I'm looking for. SCORE!!
