Cathy worked this vest from the top down, with just a sliver of a raglan-shaped cap sleeve, which creates the width of fabric across the top of the shoulder. A thick cotton yarn makes up the body, while a lighter wool trims the edges for a neat and durable finish.


Finished Size: 35 3⁄4 (38 1⁄2, 41 1⁄2, 45 1⁄4)" bust; shown in size 35 3⁄4" with zero ease. 
Araucania Patagonia Nature Cotton (100% cotton; 105 yd [100 m]/100 g): #223 pink ombre (MC), 5 (6, 6, 7) skeins. Araucania Nature Wool (100% wool; 240 yd [220 m]/100 g): #17 maroon (CC), 1 skein. Yarns distributed by Knitting Fever. 
Yarn Weight:
#4 - Medium 
Needles: Size 9 (5.5 mm): 29" and 16" circular (cir) needles and set of double pointed needles (dpn). Size 5 (3.75 mm): 29" and 16" cir needles. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain correct gauge. 
Notions: Markers (m), yarn needle, stitch holders, 2 yds 1⁄2" grosgrain ribbon (maroon). 
Gauge: 14 sts and 20 rows = 4" in St st with MC on larger needles; 18 sts and 28 rows = 4" with CC on smaller needles.
