The pattern for these socks is derived from two French embroidery patterns from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, when stripes and floral patterns were popular. A two-color Channel Island cast-on carries the stripe to the top of the cuff.

Finished Size: 7¼ (8¼, 9)" (18.5 [21, 23] cm) foot circumference and 9½ (10¼, 11)" (24 [26, 28] cm) long from back of heel to tip of toe.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Heritage Silk

Yarn Weight: #1 - Super Fine

Needles: U.S. size 2½ (3 mm)

Notions: Markers (m), tapestry needle

Gauge: 36 sts and 34 rnds = 4" (10 cm) in St st
