Required Materials:

  • 16 gauge sterling square wire, 18 inches
  • 26 gauge fine silver round wire, 8 ft.
  • Easy silver solder (wire or sheet)
  • Hard silver paste solder
  • Russian Filigree Powdered
  • Solder
  • Distilled water
  • 12-20mm cabochon and bezel setting
  • Tools

HAND: Fine pointed tweezers AA or MM Boley style, Joyce Chen™ kitchen shears, round, flat, and fine chain nose pliers, nylon ring bending pliers, 2 small steel bench blocks, small cheap nylon artist's brush, round bezel mandrel, rawhide or nylon mallet, saw frame with 2/0 or smaller blades

EQUIPMENT: Flex shaft or Dremel, rolling mill

SOLDERING: Compressed charcoal block, complete setup, including torch (air/acetylene works best), pickle, tweezers, copper tongs, water quenching container, and fire extinguisher

FINISHING: Coarse, medium, and high shine silicon knife edge wheels, mini muslin buff and blue rouge, screw-top mandrels for the flex shaft

OTHER: Sharpie marker, safety glasses and mask for flex shaft
