Description
The simple square body is bordered with a striped garter-stitch edging, mitered at the corners, which is picked up and knitted after the sweater is finished. The center front zipper is guided up and down with a corded pull embellished with three-color pom-poms. Kristin Nicholas is the author of two recent books on embroidery, Kids' Embroidery (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, 2004) and Colorful Stitchery (Storey, 2005). She talks about her love of stitchery and offers more ideas for embellishing handknits with simple embroidery stitches in an article that you'll find on the Knits website, www.interweaveknits.com.
