This workshop teaches the basics of itajime or clamped shape resist. We will explore the possibilities for combining this shibori technique, fiber reactive dyes, discharge methods, and commercial fabrics. The workshop discusses dyeing and discharging with clamped resists, as well moving back and forth between these processes. The goal of this process is to craft fabrics whose patterning is reminiscent of pieced or appliqu??d shapes.
