Extremely short! Review by Debra
Rating

I am giving this pattern only 1 star because the photograph is extremely misleading. Once you have the pattern, in the fine print you will find that the finished length is 14.5". Who wears (or can even fasten) a necklace that short!? I am an average size woman and I cant even do it up! The centre netted portion looks very long in the photo. When the pattern is followed, it is tiny. The pattern calls for it to be stitched to 4". But since its a netting stitch, as soon as you string it and gravity does its job, along with the weight of the larger beads, the centre compresses to about 2" if you're lucky. If you do this pattern and want anyone older than age 8 to wear it you will have to make the centre netting at least 8" long. Also, in order for it to not compress completely from the weight of the larger beads, I had to put a crimp, a sz 8/0 and another crimp bead on each end of the netting and the large bead cap over top. The 8/0 takes the weight of the larger beads. Without this addition, the heavier beads would compressed the netting down to 2" and left gapping spaces at the top of the necklace. Be prepared with extra rondelles, fire polish and small bead caps if you want to make this.
