About the Author

Jacey Boggs is the one woman operation behind Insubordiknit.  Known for her entertaining and instructive DVD, Sit & Spin, she spins fantastical art yarns with a technical hand, focusing on good construction and balance as much as texture and whimsy.  With a solid base in traditional spinning, she firmly believes that prowess in one style of spinning can only make you more adept in another.   Her handspun art yarns snatched up quickly and have graced the pages of many magazines. Her monthly spinning workshops are sought after and quickly filled throughout the world, in them, spinners can expect to laugh at least as much as they learn and vice versa.  In 2009 she went from teaching one independent workshop a month to teaching 2 a month including at well known fiber festivals, retreats, and institutes. She is currently booked a year and a half in advance and has a Spin Off article debut this Winter (2009).

The wacky wonderful world of art yarn Review by Kathryn Dutchin

I have been oogling Insubordiknit''s creations on her website for some time and decided I could wait no longer to try my hand at them too! I love the setup of this dvd, you can watch it all the way through or loop certain sections to review. She covers each technique at speed and slowed down along with technical pointers. Each technique is followed with a summary of suggested fiber, speed etc. Just for fun there are a series of funky musical interludes between each segment, I thoroughly enjoyed that the band members were wearing art yarn pieces during the performances. This DVD is great as an instructional video, but more than that it is fun, inspiring and a treat to watch.

This is a must for Art Yarn Spinners Review by Debra Lukeis

I have had Jacey's DVD for quite some time and then had the pleasure of doing a workshop with her. I sat and watched twice through as soon as it came in the mail. The instructions are clear and it is brilliant to be able to playback techniques continuously until you get the moves locked into your brain. Techniques are clearly demonstrated and explained; they build logically on each other or you can just jump right in; above all it is FUN. This is something I go back to again and again.
